Basketball Recap: Southern Drops Season-High Score on Diller-Odell

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern). They enjoyed a cozy 75-56 win over the Diller-Odell Griffin on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 47-40 two weeks ago.

When it comes to explaining why Diller-Odell lost, don't look at Cooper Morgan. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. Braydin Wendland was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Southern is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Diller-Odell, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Southern will face off against Lewiston on February 11th. Lewiston is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season. Diller-Odell has already played their next contest (against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
