It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Liberty Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Rustburg Red Devils 5-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-2 back in April.

Josh Hall made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Clark Breedlove, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Eston Tanner was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Liberty Christian and bumps their season record up to 10-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-14 Heritage and 7-8 Rustburg. As for Rustburg, they dropped their record down to 7-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
