Baseball Game Preview: NorthWood Panthers vs. Goshen RedHawks

The NorthWood Panthers will face off against the Goshen RedHawks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. NorthWood's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Goshen's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

NorthWood is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plymouth.

Nate Dutkowski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Goshen was able to grind out a solid win over Wawasee on Monday, taking the game 5-1. The victory continues a trend for the RedHawks in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

Bray Hoag spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Braxton Cline was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten contests. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Miller, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

NorthWood's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Goshen, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.

NorthWood beat Goshen 9-4 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the RedHawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
