Columbus and Grand Island are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Discoverers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Islanders at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Columbus came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Lincoln Southeast, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, Grand Island fought the good fight in their overtime game against Lincoln High on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Links by a score of 1-0. Grand Island have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grand Island's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Columbus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Columbus couldn't quite get it done against Grand Island when the teams last played on Thursday as they fell 3-1. Can the Discoverers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
