Boys Town, Omaha Westside get defensive.

Boys Town has been extremely impressive during its 3-0 start. The Cowboys, located in West Omaha , have outscored their opposition 93-0. After this week's game against 2-1 Douglas County West, three unbeaten teams are up next for the Cowboys. Bishop Neumann, Wahoo, and Yutan all enter Week 4 with a 3-0 record. Wahoo and Yutan play each other this week.
Something has to give in Friday night's contest between Friend and Johnson County Central. Both teams are winless at 0-3, and neither has scored a point yet this season while both have lost to Elmwood-Murdock. Friend lost 49-0 in its season opener, while Johnson County Central lost 55-0 the following week.
Papillion-LaVista South has been somewhat of a surprise at 3-1 heading into this week's game with Omaha South. Equally as surprising with all the talented running backs in Class A, Titans running back Michael Burrus leads Class A in rushing. Burrus has rushed for 745 yards and seven touchdowns this season.
Speaking of the game between two South's, another one will join a growing list of directional school names in the future. Elkhorn's new high school will be called Elkhorn South, likely to participate along with Elkhorn in Class B. Elkhorn South will be called the Storm, and joins Omaha South, PLV-South, Millard South, Lincoln Southeast, Lincoln Southwest, Southwest (Indianola), South Sioux City, Southern Valley (Oxford), South Platte (Big Springs), Southeast Nebraska (Stella), and Southern (Wymore) as schools sharing the directional name. In order to keep things fair, we will not tackle the North, East, and West directional schools until another day. The list is nearly as long.
Dodge overcame a 6-0 deficit in the third quarter with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Kreikmeier to Bryan Ruzek to tie the contest. Kreikmeier added the two-point conversion to give Dodge an 8-6 victory. Dodge, from Class D-2, and Clarkson, from Class D-1, are serious threats to both take home state championships this year. For Dodge, it was the second consecutive week it passed a stiff test. On Sept. 7, the Pirates downed Bancroft-Rosalie, 26-24.
Top-ranked Omaha Westside has running back Collins Okafor, but have primarily turned to defense in their 4-0 start. The Warriors have allowed just 97 yards per game this season.
