Tyson Wurzer Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Friday, University Prep got the W thanks in part to Tyson Wurzer playing the best football he has all season. Wurzer rushed for 234 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 154 or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

The victory was the third in a row for University Prep, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Wurzer and University Prep will venture away from home to square off against Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Lassen got the W thanks in part to Dowan Stephens playing the best football he has all season. Stephens rushed for 186 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards.

On the season, Stephens has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 129.5 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 14.5 rushing yards per game.

Anderson Gets a Boost from Raby in 35-8 Defeat

While Alias Raby delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Anderson. Raby was unstoppable, forcing a fumble and making 12 total tackles.

Aj Johnson Makes Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Aj Johnson of Central Valley. Johnson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 108 rushing yards dating back to last season.
