Basketball Game Preview: Bear River Bruins vs. Center Cougars

The Bear River Bruins will head out to square off against the Center Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Bear River will head into Wednesday's game out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They lost 73-53 to Marysville. The Bruins' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Center on Wednesday. They blew past Wheatland 64-40. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 22 point advantage.

Center is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Bear River, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.

Bear River beat Center 60-51 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Bear River repeat their success, or does Center have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
