Baseball Recap: Hadley Luzerne Comes Up Short

Hadley Luzerne had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 10-7-1 to make it five. They lost 14-0 to the North Warren Central Cougars. Considering the last time the Eagles couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for North Warren Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

For North Warren Central's part, Owen Scheafer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Scheafer has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Jennings, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for North Warren Central: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brodie Rooker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

As of now, neither Hadley Luzerne nor North Warren Central have any future games scheduled.
