Basketball Recap: Eastview Takes a Loss

Eastview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Wayzata Trojans, falling 81-40. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Trojans are ranked 12th).

Eastview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Wayzata, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Eastview will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Apple Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Wayzata, they are taking a road trip to face off against Shakopee at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayzata knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Shakopee likes a good challenge.
