Recap: Glascock County Panthers vs. Briarwood Academy Buccaneers
This season hasn't been kind to the Glascock County Panthers, who are still winless after their ninth match. The New Year welcomed they with a 84-50 whooping from Briarwood Academy on Tuesday. Glascock County has not had much luck with Briarwood Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Briarwood Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sam Mock, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The game was Mock's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Charlie Mosley was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Glascock County's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for Briarwood Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Glascock County will head out on the road to face off against Georgia Military College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Briarwood Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Gatewood at 6:00 p.m. Gatewood is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
