Football Recap: Discovery Canyon's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Discovery Canyon had won three straight games and Devon Baker did his part to make it four on Saturday. The Thunder came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 40-39 W against the Pueblo County Hornets thanks in part to Baker, who rushed for 174 yards and two TDs. Discovery Canyon also relied on Baker, who's 49-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game.

Another player making a difference was Landen Emmons, who rushed for 70 yards and one score. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards.

Discovery Canyon's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Pueblo County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Discovery Canyon will head out to face off against Widefield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunder will be up against the Gladiators' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.25 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pueblo County, they will host Pueblo South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
