Football Game Preview: Bowling Green Purples vs. Apollo Eagles

Bowling Green is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Apollo is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Purples will welcome the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Bowling Green is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Graves County 42-0. The Purples might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 35 points or more this season.

Nick Graham went supernova, rushing for 93 yards and three scores on only 12 carries, while also picking up 55 receiving yards. Those 93 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jaxen Smith was in the mix as well, providing Bowling Green with two touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Bowling Green proved: they limited Graves County to a paltry 2.3 yards per carry. The Purples' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.5.

Meanwhile, Apollo was able to grind out a solid win over Barren County on Friday, taking the game 19-7.

Bowling Green's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Apollo, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
