Recap: Laton Mustangs vs. Tranquillity Tigers
The Laton Mustangs suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 61-36 walloping at the hands of Tranquillity. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Laton in their matchups with Tranquillity: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Laton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Johnathan Garcia. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Yann Jimenez, who scored nine points.
Laton's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Tranquillity, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
Laton will head out on the road to square off against Legacy Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Legacy Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Tranquillity, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mendota at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mendota is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
