It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Burleson had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Paschal Panthers as they made off with a 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Elks, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Burleson is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Paschal, the loss snapped their winning streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 15-9 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Burleson beat the Panthers by a score of 13-3 later that day.
