Baseball Game Preview: Owen Warhorses vs. Madison Patriots

For the second straight game, Owen will face off against Madison. The Warhorses will square off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Owen came up short against Madison and fell 9-4.

For Madison's part, Caden Lounsbury was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lounsbury also tossed a walk, which is notable because Madison is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 6-10 otherwise. Lounsbury was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Lounsbury wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Max Shelton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Shelton is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jaxon Dillingham was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Madison is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Owen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.
