3A Region IV District 31 recap Nov. 7, 2012
King extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region IV District 31 this week by beating Lyford, 41-16. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Brahmas.
King moved up to 650 from 696 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Robert Wilcox's team climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Bulldogs 41-16.
Zapata's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Alonso Gutierrez has thrown for 93 yards this season, while Cesar Ramos has six catches for 81 yards. Mike Alvarez leads the league in rushing with 600 yards.
A big matchup in 3A Region IV District 31 this week will be when the Brahmas take on Grulla. As it stands, King is in first, while the Gators are in fourth.
The Brahmas made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,734 from 7,330. The advance stemmed from a 41-16 victory over Lyford last week.
