Preview: Douglas vs. Marshfield

Douglas (3-1) is five games into its season, but it hasn't met anyone harder than the team challenging it next. It and Marshfield (4-0) take on one another this Friday at 7:00 PM on Douglas's home turf. Marshfield's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Douglas defense that got six sacks against Siuslaw in its previous game.

Last week, Douglas took on Siuslaw. Douglas's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 22 points in the first half. That put it at a 22 - 7 advantage. The offense continued to do well in the second half, scoring 35 points. In the end, Douglas steamrollered its way to an easy 57 - 13 victory.

As for Marshfield, the result looked promising given the state ranking disparity, but it did even better than expected last week. It breezed past South Umpqua last week with a final score of 34 - 13. Junior Tristin Lemmons deserves a lot of the credit as he ran for 88 yards and also punched in two touchdowns.

With both Marshfield and Douglas swaggering in after impressive performances, we'll find out which team will step up to teach the other some humility.
