Homestead and Hartford are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Highlanders will host the Orioles at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Homestead is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Homestead came up short against West Bend East on Thursday, falling 9-3.

Homestead got a good showing from Lucas Wirth, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Wirth gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Homestead saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ari Crabbe, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Jack Adams also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Hartford posted their closest victory since May 22, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Indian Trail. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Orioles.

Ayden Grulke tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Joe Landgraf, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hartford, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Homestead couldn't quite get it done against Hartford in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Highlanders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
