Volleyball Recap: Sotomayor WILDCATS vs. La Vernia Bears
Sotomayor had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the La Vernia Bears on Tuesday. The WILDCATS were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bears from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-17, 25-17.
Despite the loss, Sotomayor had strong showings from Zoey Aguayo, who had nine assists and five digs, and Adyson England, who had eight kills and one block.
La Vernia was led to victory by Karis Carpenter and Madelynn Nagelmueller. Carpenter had 14 digs and two aces, while Nagelmueller had five aces and three digs. What's more, Nagelmueller racked up ten assists, the most she's had since back in September of 2024.
Sotomayor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Flatonia on the 14th. As for La Vernia, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Belton on the 14th.
