Preview: Lima Christian Saints vs. Friendship Golden Eagles
Lima Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Friendship Golden Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lima Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 184 points over their last three contests.
On Thursday, everything went Lima Christian's way against Friendship as Lima Christian made off with a 59-37 victory. Lima Christian pushed the score to 46-21 by the end of the third, a deficit Friendship cut but never quite recovered from.
Lima Christian found their leader in underclassman Alyssa Marsh, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Marsh has scored at least a third of Lima Christian's points. Lily Herring was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Lima Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Friendship, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.
Lima Christian took their victory against Friendship in their previous matchup on Thursday by a conclusive 59-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lima Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
