Recap: Sebring Blue Streaks vs. Eau Gallie Commodores
The Sebring Blue Streaks had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 21-12 victory over Eau Gallie on Friday. The win was familiar territory for Sebring who now have seven in a row.
Sebring's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Travis Kerney led the charge by rushing for 46 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 72 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Walsone Beaubrian, who rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Several Commodores players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emmanuel Small, who rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Delvonte Williams, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown.
Sebring's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Even more impressive is the teams they beat to make that streak: Eau Gallie, Okeechobee, and Bartow. As for Eau Gallie, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.
Sebring will head out on the road to face off against Mainland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eau Gallie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
