Basketball Recap: Ruben Herrera Key Part of a Team Effort in White Tigers Win

Vaughn won the last time they faced Fulton and things went their way on Saturday too. The Vaughn White Tigers enjoyed a cozy 62-43 victory over the Fulton Jaguars.

Vaughn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ruben Herrera, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Herrera a new career-high in assists (six). Siddiq Mumin was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.

Fulton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlito De Dios, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Calica, who earned eight points.

Vaughn's record now sits at 5-14. As for Fulton, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vaughn will head out to challenge Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fulton, they will head out on the road to take on Sherman Oaks CES at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
