Baseball Recap: White Oak Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but White Oak ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Lejeune Devil Pups 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Devil Pups: they've now won three in a row.

White Oak let Brandon Brandt and Ryan Baxter run wild. Brandt went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Baxter went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Brandt a new career-high. Jamison Avila also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

White Oak's record is now 6-10. As for Lejeune, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. White Oak will take on Swansboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lejeune, they will face off against Southside at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Seahawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.44 runs per game on average), something the Devil Pups will no doubt try to take advantage of.
