            Football Recap: Carrizo Springs Wildcats vs. Crystal City Javelinas        
        
		
        
        
            Carrizo Springs had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but  on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it five. They fell  27-22 to the Crystal City Javelinas. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the  23-20 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in September of 2024.
As for Crystal City, the  win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 49.6 points this season.
  Adrian Zavala was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 120 yards and two  scores. Zavala is  crushing it when it comes to  rushing yards: he's   rushed for at least 120 every time he's  taken the field this season.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carrizo Springs will challenge Robstown at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Cottonpickers' defense has only allowed 8.6  points per game  this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Crystal City, after each having a week off, they and Jourdanton will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another  at 7:00  p.m.  on October 10. The  contest will  give the Javelinas their first taste of in-conference action this season.
