West Jefferson has gone 10-0 against Madison Plains recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 12:30 p.m.

West Jefferson is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since February 26, 2024 last Saturday. They lost 72-47 to Southeastern Local. While losing is never fun, the Roughriders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th, while the Trojans are ranked 171st).

Meanwhile, Madison Plains waltzed into their match last Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 38-30 win over the Tigers. The 38-point effort marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Madison Plains found their leader in freshman Anna Stroup, who posted 18 points along with seven boards and four steals. The game was Stroup's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Vallery, who put up eight points and eight rebounds.

Madison Plains smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Madison Plains pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for West Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

West Jefferson beat Madison Plains 43-36 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Jefferson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
