Soccer Game Preview: Sunset vs. Mountainside

The Sunset Apollos will head out on the road to take on the Mountainside Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sunset proved they can win big with a four-goal victory last Thursday. On Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Westview 3-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountainside). Everything went their way against Southridge on Wednesday as they made off with a 6-0 win. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Mountainside with their most commanding win of the season.

Sunset has been on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That run has powered them to a 9-2 record this season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those eight contests. As for Mountainside, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 6-3-3.
