Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Alhambra

Alhambra won the last time they faced Carl Hayden Community and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lions were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Falcons. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Kevin Isaac spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Alhambra got a massive performance out of Christopher Martinez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Nicolas Reyes was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Alhambra pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Carl Hayden Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alhambra will venture away from home to face off against McClintock at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Carl Hayden Community, they will head out to challenge Glendale at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
