Recap: Franklin Lions vs. Lorena Leopards
It was a good run, but The Franklin Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their 23-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. They fell just short of Lorena by a score of 52-49. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Braylon Henry was his usual excellent self, rushing for 255 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Henry is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Roberts, who threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes.
Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Lorena, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2.
Franklin will square off against C.H. Yoe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. C.H. Yoe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while Franklin is ranked 131st). As for Lorena, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Troy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
