Basketball Preview: Towson Generals vs. Catonsville Comets
Towson has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Catonsville Comets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Even though Towson has not done well against the Bulls recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Towson enjoyed a cozy 58-41 victory over the Bulls.
Towson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Seven Wheeler, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Renner, who scored 13 points along with six assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Catonsville had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They strolled past Patapsco with points to spare, taking the game 56-42.
Towson's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Catonsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Towson lost to the Comets on the road by a decisive 75-58 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Towson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
