Basketball Game Preview: Crookston Pirates vs. Sacred Heart Eagles

After both having extra time off, the Crookston Pirates and the Sacred Heart Eagles will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Friday, Crookston might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Ada-Borup/Norman County West an easy 63-42 victory.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart was fully in charge last Saturday, breezing past Roseau 73-42. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Sacred Heart is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.3 points. As for Crookston, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Crookston came up short against Sacred Heart in their previous meeting back in January, falling 59-51. Can Crookston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
