Softball Recap: Belleview Gets the Win

Belleview won the last time they faced Leesburg and things went their way on Monday too. The Rattlers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Yellow Jackets a 6-0 shutout. The Rattlers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Leesburg's batters probably weren't too happy with Ya'Mari Reynolds, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Reynolds has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kiera Evans was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Quartararo, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

The win got Belleview back to even at 8-8. As for Leesburg, they moved to 13-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belleview will host North Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leesburg, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Umatilla at 6:00 p.m.
