Volleyball Recap: Fishers Picks Up 17th Straight Win at Home

Fishers waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in March.

Fishers easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Nate Fitzwater and Ethan Luenemann, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from JT Guler and his 22 assists. Luenemann was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Fishers' win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-2. As for Franklin Community, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-11.

Fishers has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Marist on the 10th. As for Franklin Community, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Lincoln-Way East on the 10th.
