Football Recap: Stoneman Douglas Falls to Cypress Bay in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Stoneman Douglas unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Cypress Bay Lightning on Thursday, falling 40-7. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Jaylin Reid had a dynamite game For Cypress Bay., rushing for 126 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries. Reid showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 62 yards. Logan P was another key player, throwing for 172 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Stoneman Douglas will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Deerfield Beach at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th. As for Cypress Bay, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 40-24 loss against Flanagan on the 28th.
