Preview: Follett Panthers vs. McLean Tigers
Two dominant players in David Meeks and Jayvon Salazar are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Follett Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the McLean Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Follett focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
Follett scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Darrouzett 74-25 at home. Follett has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Among those leading the charge was Julian Barton, who scored nine points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Meeks, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, McLean didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Kelton on Friday, but they still walked away with a 39-34 win. The victory was just what McLean needed coming off of a 68-20 defeat in their prior match.
Follett pushed their record up to 11-7 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.36 points. McLean's record is now 4-13.
Everything came up roses for Follett against McLean in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 78-33 win. With Follett ahead 44-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.
