Recap: Fyffe Red Devils vs. Lanett Panthers

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Fyffe Red Devils can now relate to. They fell 48-40 to the Panthers on Friday. While losing is never fun, Fyffe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Lanett is ranked 90th).

Lanett was led to victory by Laila Lancaster and Nakeriona Heard. Lancaster almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, while Heard dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. Lancaster hasn't dropped below three blocks for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Tyra Jackson, who scored six points along with two steals.

Fyffe's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-14. As for Lanett, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-4.

Fyffe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lanett, they will head out on the road to challenge Pisgah at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pisgah will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Lanett surely won't give up without a fight.
