Baseball Recap: Wilson Finds Home Field Redemption Against Reading

There's no place like home for Wilson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Reading Red KNights with a sharp 8-1 win on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Christo Hunsicker made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Gabe Spohn was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Alex Ernesto was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Wilson's record is now 4-2. As for Reading, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilson will host Emmaus at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Reading, they will be playing at home against Governor Mifflin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
