Basketball Recap: Atrisco Heritage Academy Takes a Loss

Atrisco Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Albuquerque Bulldogs and fell 67-17. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-11.

Despite the loss, Atrisco Heritage Academy still got an impressive performance from Selim Neel, who posted 11 points and three steals. Neel has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Leading Albuquerque to victory were Lailah Bouldin and Abby Pavia. Bouldin dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards, while Pavia dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Bouldin a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zaiyah Hawley, who scored five points and six steals.

Atrisco Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Albuquerque, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Los Lunas the next time they take the court. Atrisco Heritage Academy will host Los Lunas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Albuquerque will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
