Basketball Recap: Turkeyfoot Valley Area's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

After flying high against Meyersdale last Thursday, Turkeyfoot Valley Area came back down to earth. The Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams had to suffer through a 76-35 loss at the hands of the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-16.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zack Ryan, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Lance Jones was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 11 points and seven boards.

The defeat snapped Turkeyfoot Valley Area's winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 11-2 record. As for Westmont Hilltop, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-21 victory against Hyndman Charter School on the 14th. Westmont Hilltop has also already played their next game (against Greater Johnstown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
