Baseball Game Preview: Madisonville Mustangs vs. Hudson Hornets

Madisonville is 1-9 against Hudson since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Madisonville will challenge Hudson at 7:00 p.m. Madisonville will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Last Saturday, Madisonville didn't have quite enough to beat Franklin and fell 7-6.

Jackson Zanolini was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Cade Campbell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hudson's offense. They fell just short of Tompkins by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday.

Ceylan Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Hudson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Channing Howatt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Hudson's loss dropped their record down to 7-9-1. As for Madisonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Madisonville might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Hudson when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Madisonville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
