Basketball Recap: Appleton West Comes Up Short

Appleton West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Kimberly Papermakers an easy 84-61 win. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Terrors of the 75-32 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Appleton West's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Kimberly, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Appleton West and Fond du Lac will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fond du Lac's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Kimberly, they will be home for the holidays to greet Oshkosh West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kimberly knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Oshkosh West likes a good challenge.
