The Jefferson Area Falcons will square off against the Sharon Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Jefferson Area took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Geneva as they made off with a 14-2 victory. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Olivia Lewis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allison Hill, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makenna Stanich, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Jefferson Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are 7-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Sharon waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Knights a 15-0 shutout. The Tigers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four contests.
Like Jefferson Area, Sharon also got a great game from a two-way player: Madelyn Vogan. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Vogan was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Sharon got a big performance out of Dalaini Bayer, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Addie McFann was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
The victory got Jefferson Area back to even at 9-9. As for Sharon, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Jefferson Area hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .388. However, it's not like Sharon struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
