Volleyball Recap: Paige Brennan Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Berne-Knox-Westerlo

Mekeel Christian Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs 3-0 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Mekeel Christian Academy took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-14, 25-10.

Mekeel Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Paige Brennan out in front who had ten kills, six aces, and four digs. That's the most aces Brennan has posted over her last nine matches. Another player making a difference was Bria Salvo, who had 26 assists.

They weren't the only good servers: Mekeel Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in three consecutive contests.

Mekeel Christian Academy's record is now 25-4-4. As for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
