Softball Game Preview: Hilliard Red Flashes vs. Yulee Hornets

The Hilliard Red Flashes will venture away from home to square off against the Yulee Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilliard has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 27.

Hilliard came up short against Providence School on Monday, falling 8-2.

Hilliard saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kierstin Northern, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Yulee fell victim to Crystal River and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Pirates. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Hornets, who until this matchup were averaging three runs allowed.

This is the second loss in a row for Yulee and nudges their season record down to 8-7-1. As for Hilliard, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Hilliard suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Yulee when the teams last played on Wednesday. Can Hilliard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
