Basketball Recap: Fallston Makes It Four in a Row at Home

It's playoff time, and Fallston had no trouble coming through when it counted. They managed a 37-33 victory over the C. Milton Wright Mustangs on Monday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 139th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Natalie Wirth continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Wirth is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.

Fallston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in 47 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Fallston's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. As for C. Milton Wright, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

Fallston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 35-34 victory against Rising Sun on the 5th. C. Milton Wright does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
