Soccer Game Preview: Southwest vs. Young Men's Leadership Academy

The Southwest Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge Young Men's Leadership Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Southwest is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Diamond Hill-Jarvis just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 510th, while the Eagles are ranked 152nd).

Meanwhile, Young Men's Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Benbrook. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Young Men's Leadership Academy couldn't quite close it out.

Young Men's Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14-1. As for Southwest, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8-2.

Everything went Southwest's way against Young Men's Leadership Academy when the teams last played back in February, as Southwest made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southwest since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
