Neumann-Goretti is preparing for their first  conference matchup of the season  on Wednesday. They will square off against the Roman Catholic Cahillite at 4:00  p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  run totals in their previous games.
On Saturday, Neumann-Goretti got the win against State College  by a conclusive  12-6.
Neumann-Goretti got a great performance from  Johnluca LaSpada as he  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit.
 At the plate,  Nicky Genzano and  Christian Meitzler did most of the damage at the plate:  Genzano  scored two  runs while going 1-for-2, while  Meitzler  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and three  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Nick DiGiacomo, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases.
 Neumann-Goretti  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as State College only posted  an  OBP of  .379.
Roman Catholic not only won  on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win  since March 25, 2024. They blew past Northeast 14-2. Considering the Cahillite's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Dylan Carter looked comfortable as he  struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Those  eight  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Pat Buckley, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more,  he posted two  RBI, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024.  Luis Selles was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Neumann-Goretti now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for Roman Catholic, their  win (their first of the  season) made their record 1-2.
 Neumann-Goretti came out on top in a nail-biter against Roman Catholic in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024, sneaking past  8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Neumann-Goretti since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
