Baseball Recap: Alcorn Central Takes a Loss

Alcorn Central managed to slip by Kossuth the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bears lost 9-1 to the Aggies on Friday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Aggies earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Alcorn Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayse Johnson, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Alcorn Central has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Kossuth, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Alcorn Central will welcome Hatley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kossuth, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against New Albany at 2:00 p.m.
