Baseball Recap: Amador Valley Comes Up Short

The Amador Valley Dons didn't have quite enough to beat the Campolindo Cougars on Saturday and fell 4-3.

Amador Valley got a good showing from Elliot De La Torre, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.

At the plate, Amador Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake DeMichiel, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Amador Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Campolindo, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Amador Valley will head out on the road to face off against American at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. American's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Amador Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Campolindo, they will be playing at home against Pittsburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pittsburg will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Campolindo surely won't give up without a fight.
