Soccer Game Preview: Pebblebrook vs. Groves

The Pebblebrook Falcons will face off against the Groves Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Groves took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pebblebrook, who comes in off a win.

Pebblebrook took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Drew a 2-0 shutout. The Falcons found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: April Alaniz and Rosa Vigil were both handed yellow cards.

Ashandy Galeana and Jasmin Castillo scored both of Pebblebrook's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, while the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Woodville-Tompkins who was credited with the victory on Tuesday. Woodville-Tompkins got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Groves' two. The Rebels have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Pebblebrook's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Groves, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
