Soccer Game Preview: North Kingstown vs. Pilgrim

The North Kingstown Skippers will venture away from home to challenge the Pilgrim Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North Kingstown is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

North Kingstown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Portsmouth, who was ranked 25th at the time (North Kingstown was ranked first). The Skippers put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 8-0 victory on Saturday. North Kingstown's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Their offense was hitting Portsmouth from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Alexa Barajas led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Pilgrim's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They came up short against Moses Brown, falling 4-1.

North Kingstown's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Pilgrim, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Everything went North Kingstown's way against Pilgrim when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as North Kingstown made off with a 9-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Skippers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
